  1. Oh Jeez!! On the wheat field dream.

  2. LOL, I where is the wheat field dreamer now?

From the map on #7 I think Cutting could also be the route traveled.

  3. I believe with everything in me that Brittney knew something if her killing was a killing as a warning to the others then why wait all that time for her to come back to Jennings and then when she had not even been in jennings but for about 3 to 4 days and then kill her no she scared the killer/killers they were more afraid of her. Yes she was young and that is what scared them but that is ok you know that she talked that she told someone what she knows she was a very beautiful young girl who never got to become a mother, get married they took that from her but with all that is in me i believe she will get the last word in on these killer/killers. Young people like to talk I am ohhh i say 100% sure she said something if she is like most teenagers they can never keep a secret. Soon it will all come out

  4. kirk you got mail…..

  5. gt8rgirl

…to whom is this poi sending a warning out to by killing #7?….

…what is it that they know too much of that they never talked especially when they were in fear?….surely by now somebody would have talked….jmo…..

  6. angel4one….you know…you have a good point. I have a teen just a bit younger than Brittney and you’re right….they do like to talk; especially with their friends. I hope and pray she told someone something and if they haven’t come forward yet that they will soon.

I believe her, and all the girls actually, will get the last word in. I don’t want to sound like you know who but….I do believe the girls are watching and guiding and the truth will come out one way or the other.

  7. angel4one, I sure hope and pray you are right. Poor child never had a chance in life and so beautiful. All of them but Brittney was soooo young.

  8. db….I think the girls knew of illegal activities and perhaps may have been involved in them themselves (maybe not necessarily by choice) and they could “name names”.

In other words….I don’t believe these were just random thrill kills just for the sake of killing. There was a reason. The perp(s) may have felt the girls were edging closer to telling authorities.

  9. A few discussions back db said he/she thought the poi was a person of color. That could be, from those I’ve talked with they don’t care what race…just solve it before we have more.

  10. I don’t think it really matters what race the perp(s) is other than possibly for profiling purposes. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out there’s both blacks and whites involved.

  11. g8, I really think you have a point there. It could be they don’t care about race it’s about making sure something is kept silent.

I was in and out at the time but so I don’t know much but maybe this all started in 2000 with the Karam/Guidrey case. Here again I don’t kow but maybe that was about the time of the sting some are talking about.

I still think Cutting is worth thinking about after all it is only a few car lengths from both police stations to Cutting. The trip would only take about 15 minutes from Cutting then to 102 and 1126 back. Just guessing it’s about 9 miles to Lake Arthur Cutting or 26.

  12. well I have believe from the moment that i was told brittney was missing that the young girl i knew was going to have the last word in on this and that i am sure she fought until the end because she was a fighter and I sure hope what knowledge she left behind will soon come out and i feel in time it will and also feel that it will come out online and who knows maybe even on this site since our great sheriff gave it such a great plug in and now everyone around knows about this site. I really would not be surprised if the killer/killers was reading this site since the sheriff said something about this site. but it will come out and it will be soon if not later.

  13. Gosh….that makes me sad thinking about her having to struggle and try to fight for her life……sigh 😦

  14. ahlou….interesting that you’re bringing up Cutting….as I was staring at the map yesterday (for hours on end like I do sometimes) I noticed it was another straight route to the area where 4 of the bodies were found. I didn’t realize the police stations were just off Cutting.

  15. Yes, g8 take your map cross the RR track you will see the first left then the first red light coming from the bodies…south to north I think… bad at directions both police stations are there. Should I say coming from South Cutting toward North Cutting then a few, very few short distance are the police stations. First would be City then at the red light would be Sheriff. Sheriff is actually closer to Cutting than is City but both are real close. Yep, they are.

  16. Yes i agree g8trgirl it is sad that she was ever in the situation, but we can’t think about that we must go forward and what we all know rather it be a little information or the biggest of information we must all put our heads together and solve this for each of those girls and we must do it before it happens again. we all know the time line the months of the killings and we are getting into those months so whatever it is anyone knows just start putting all your cards out there. we know this website is being watch and we know they are checking what ever we say on here and if you have info just tell it on here you are not going to be found out make a fake name and tell. if you don’t want to do it for your own self of peace then do it for those young ladies…do it for there families there kids…there communites. I believe we have the best group of head working on this case right here on this site this is the real task force (TASKFORCE jdpkiller.wordpress) so keep it up everyone and let the truth out it is only a matter of time before the big news just come out

  17. Wondering if Britney Gary is related to Warren Gary and how. So many like names inf the whole mix.

  18. If the task force has been provided foreign DNA evidence from the bodies perhaps it is time for them to perform a wide-spread cheek swabbing in JDP. The task force for the Baton Rouge serial killer case swabbed 1,200 males.

  19. I don’t believe they were related ahlou.

  20. Time for the proverbial swab, I agree. No problem if you have nothing to hide. If this a rape/murder situation then they have DNA. Impossible to remove all traces as a few seem especially violent. I have no doubt that the victims fought. There will be DNA as a result.

    .

  21. I agree cp if the people being swabbed are innocent there shouldn’t be any resistance.
Gotta start somewhere, why not here? ….Swab away!

  22. Swabbing would be great, however, we can’t go around like Nazis and Marxists swabbing everyone in the parish. What if these killings were committed by, for instance, a professional from another state to protect particular people’s reputation? Perhaps Texas, for example. We’d waste an awful lot of time, focus and resources on the swabbing detail. We already know that only seven percent of people voting on this site believe that law enforcement is NOT directly involved. So, how about starting there, where the vast majority of site visitors believe we should concentrate? Start with law enforcement. Do we have a deputy that has shown a capacity for violence against weak and helpless innocents? I believe we do. In fact, he caused a huge law suit for the sheriff’s department years ago and has a life-long, proven problem with anger issues and violent outbursts, even against his own family and against children, proving that he preys upon the weak and helpless, possibly to bolster his own weak self-image. I wonder if this deputy has been placed under a microscope in these murders of weak and helpless women. It would fit his M.O. This is said just to make a point … The point is, there is one very obvious choice that I’ll bet has never been examined by our crack investigators. When folks say they are doing absolutely nothing to solve these crimes, they are right. These crimes, I am convinced, are not intended to be solved. There is far too much for the right persons to lose if these murders are solved.

  23. i agree that race is not a factor as long as we catch him…BUT if le has it narrowed down to race, origin and other different factors then that gives the le options and narrows it down…

…part of investigating is to develop a profile of this person to thicken the investigation……….my reasons for feeling that this person is a man of color is based solely on what i observed when studying this case….comparing from what i see everyday….if you care to know why, id be willing to share my reasons why thru email…..i dont want to come off as being stereotypical to everyone without them understand where im coming from…….

i find that most of these women worked in fast food places very interesting….you have to ask yourself…did this person cruise around this way…..?….then u have to ask yourself….how was he cruising around?….while working or just simply riding…..if its while working….what is his job title?….hmm…

  24. Silence,

I was being facetious about the swabbing! Honestly I don’t think it would even matter if they started swabbing these LE individuals because the people who will benefit from the case going unsolved will be the same people hiding the truth. The test would somehow turn out botched!

  25. “Swabbing would be great, however, we can’t go around like Nazis and Marxists swabbing everyone in the parish.” Well said, SDG. DNA swabbing without warrants or even probable cause is a direct violation of the Fourth Amendment to the US Constitution. Considering the fact that some LE in JDP seem to want to deny people their First Amendment rights, I don’t think we should provide them any more power. Allowing the government or LE to ignore our God given rights, even under the most adverse circumstances, is a dangerous proposition. “If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear” is also dangerous logic inviting unwanted government control. What’s next? Random searches of homes? Traffic stops without probable cause? How far do we allow LE to go before we become subjects instead of citizens?

Voluntary testing of a pool of suspects would save time, money, manpower, and allow LE to narrow their focus. However, this assumes that LE has made enough progress to even have a suspect pool. Also for consideration: If LE forces a DNA sample and actually catches a suspect, his/her/their lawyer can claim the sample was “fruit of the poisonous tree” evidence because of 4th Amendment violations, and have the entire case dismissed. I know everyone here is very passionate about this case, but we have to stay objective. I’ll put away my soapbox for the day.

  26. Silence, are you able to say who that police officer is?

  27. Does anyone know?

    • Point taken about random or mass swabbing. I made an irresponsible statement by letting my frustration override objectivity. Of course I’m still curious as to how the Baton Rouge task force managed to circumvent legalities with their massive swabbing effort but that’s a different discussion for another day.

Silence, I agree with your statement. My question is….what options do the victim’s families and the public in general have if LE/task force have no intention of solving the cases and there is a potential cover-up and masking of the crimes?

  28. The officer that was beating kids was a Fontenot from the Hathaway area. I don’t remember his first name right off hand (Raymond or Rayburn maybe?) but I do know the family who fought the case for about five or six years before winning the civil case and before the victim was proven totally innocent of the criminal accusations as the officials knew all along. The family simply wanted to clear the boy’s name and drop the issue. The family had offered to settle the case for one dollar if the beaten victim was simply exhonorated publically but the officials elected to hire a team of lawyers for years (with our tax money) to try and defend the civil case on behalf of the kid-beating deputy and the other conspirators. It was a very interesting case. The D.A. held a charge over one of the beating victims and told them he’d drop the charges only if they’d drop the civil suit against the sheriff. The officer cost the parish gajillions of dollars because he beat a kid to get a bogus confession when normal, simple investigative police work was too much to ask of the department. The town of Lake Arthur was also sued in the case because numerous officers (the current chief included) witnessed the crimes and tried to cover it up also. The sheriff refused to fire the deputy for the crime till it hit the newspaper and I hear that the deputy was quietly rehired after the public heat was off. The D.A. also refused to prosecute the deputy for the crimes that he committed. That’s how this sheriff and D.A., both elected numerous times by us, care for the welfare of the public. I recall that the FBI was informed of every aspect of this case as well and they refused to take action. They told the family that it would give all of law enforcement a bad name if they’d prosecute the crimes committed by the officials. Now, I ask, what makes us think that these officials will protect us from any current threats to our safety? This would not fit their M.O.!

  29. Could the name be Rocky Fontenot ?

  30. It’s Rayford.

  31. I see a lot of posts dedicated to opinions of the killers race. If his DNA was at any of the crime scenes then a racial profile, based on DNA testing is available.

    http://www.dnaprint.com/welcome/productsandservices/forensics/

This test can tell the ethnic background of a person. It gives percentages of African, European, American indian, and Asian DNA markers in it’s report. LE is beginning to use it as a tool in searching for criminals.

  32. Well, that is very sad to hear silence. I feel them dogs are digging their hole and it is just getting deeper and deeper. Their time is coming where they will not be able to get out.

    • Wonder what the status of this case is…..anyone remember it or know if it was ever settled? Just another JDPSO incident that makes you go hmmm….

  33. g8tr,
Her and her husband sued for 10 million for a civil rights violation. They sued Ricky Edwards, Terry Guillory, Mark Ivory and Michael Cassidy. It was case number 2:2007cv01675 filed in the LA western district court on 10-9-07. Note that the presiding judge was a woman, the Honorable Rebecca F Doherty. Also note that it was federal court. I think they went this route to bypass the good ole boy network.

I do not know the outcome.

  34. Where is this Fontenot now? Still in Lake Arthur or south Louisiana? Still a police officer? Still married? How old is he?

  35. CP,
There is a little town called Welsh about 12 miles west of Jennings. There is a Christine F. there. Her husband is listed as Rayford. She is a Jennings HS alumni of 1977. I do not know if they are the same people or not.

  36. Thanks, RR. Picked up that one too. The husband is 61. I saw a few others but need an approximate age. Also, the incident mentioned above included abuse of the officer’s own kids so trying that aspect too. If a local would give us a hint…hint..hint.

  37. The D.A. also refused to prosecute the deputy for the crimes that he committed. That’s how this sheriff and D.A., both elected numerous times by us, care for the welfare of the public.

I noticed the sheriff and the DA were in the same graduating class…….hmmm.

  38. g8trgirl got mail.

  39. Fontenot still lives in Hathaway

  40. g8tr,

g8trgirl-That suit is still pending and a pretrial conference has been scheduled from what I understand in the PACER system. The alleged victim claims she was sexually assaulted in the parish jail when she was incarcerated there by a jailer. She was incarcerated for worthless checks. If you perform a media search for Nina Ravey, you may be able to pull up the full story on KPLC Channel 7 in their archives. Incidentally and perhaps coincidentally, the jailer that was accused of assaulting the inmate killed himself the day the victim passed a lie detector test and the State Police phoned the jailer and told him that they needed to speak to him.

Nina Ravey, again perhaps coincidentally, was arrested the same exact day that Jesse Ewing was arrested. To date, Nina Ravey has not been arraigned but lost her nurse practitioners license and had to file bankruptcy and almost had to file for divorce but yet never been to court on the charges for which she was arrested.

According to PACER, this case is going to trial with the inmate that was allegedly sexually assaulted. Incidentally and perhaps coincidentally again, the victim’s attorney is Jill Craft, an attorney from Baton Rouge that represented the victim that sued Judge Wendell Miller for sexual Harassment when he had an affair with his secretary.

  41. Jill Craft is a Civil Rights attorney in BR.

Has Nina had a bond set or is she still sitting in jail again?
There is limits on how long they have to set bond, and I thought to arraign someone also. Am I mistaken?

  42. Yes Nina had a bond set, originally I believe it was $50,000 then reduced to $10,000. She’s not sitting in jail and never did any time in jail. Was just arrested and posted bond. There are time limits and she has a right to speedy trial too but what gets me is the coincidental arrest of Ewing and Nina simultaneously when Ewing questions witnesses about the homicides and Nina goes to the press about the rape of the inmate.

  43. And of course you have an AA – Mark Ivory – who kill himself with a gunshot to the gut.

So now why didn’t Guillory do something when he was told of the rapes or was it harrassments. There have been many claims but some were before Mark Ivory was even in Jennings.

  44. BTW, g8, the trip from North Cutting using the red light as timer it takes 6 minutes to drive to 1126 jct then turn onto 26.heading back north.

    • BTW, g8, the trip from North Cutting using the red light as timer it takes 6 minutes to drive to 1126 jct then turn onto 26.heading back north.

ahlou….just wanted you to know this didn’t slip past me. Thanks for the info!!!

  45. I mean red light by the Sheriff’s office.

    Where is the mogue located?

    • Yes Nina had a bond set, originally I believe it was $50,000 then reduced to $10,000. She’s not sitting in jail and never did any time in jail. Was just arrested and posted bond. Jesse Ewing arrested by State Police on December 19, 2007 and Nina Ravey arrested by State Police on December 19, 2007.

  46. I am glad she did no time…maybe saved another victim.

KM wrote: gets me is the coincidental arrest of Ewing and Nina simultaneously when Ewing questions witnesses about the homicides and Nina goes to the press about the rape of the inmate.

I noticed that to and it is very suspicious. Too much going on in the Sheriff’s Dept/ Jail that can appear to be coincidental when it actually isn’t.

Livingston Parish’s DA, Judges, and Sheriff sleep together too. they all slepp in the same bed at night, the council can’t even cover their crookedness. Bad audit- fire the auditor they did. State is calling their bluff. Good Ole boys. You have to keep hope that some day their actions will come falling down all around them.

If had proof that the task force was not working the case- or that nobody wanted it solved…I would stir up so much stink throughout the government the bad guys will confess just to get rid of the stinch.

Has anyone got knowledge of the Task Force Your Honorable Governor Bobby Jindal appointed and funded ‘actually working the case.’ For real.

    Please do tell.

  47. A gunshot to the gut, from what I understand is usually a “sympathy attempt at suicide” from what some investigators told me.

I know that the victim took a lie detector test, and in fact, took two lie detector tests and Guillory never took one to my knowledge.

The victim was from Mississippi…so I’m to expect that Ms. Ravey would put her career on the line for someone that she barely knows. To me, that’s a little far fetched and too coincidental that she and Ewing was arrested on the same day, both for bucking/attempting to buck the system by speaking out. What gives?

  48. And please do tell…..are there any “connections” amongst the appointed task force members themselves…..speaking of the good old boy network.

  49. Anyone know the names of the FBI agents that are actually on the case routinely???

  50. Couldn’t tell ya but I’m sure someone on here has some opinions, actually, the one on the task force that I deal with and I won’t say his name but I do trust him, he treats us fair when we turn over information to him.

  51. Don Bosco is a FBI agent on the case.

  52. I don’t guess Don would be open to answering a few questions huh?

  53. Um, no. He goes to church with one of my investigators from Carencro and avoids him because he knows that we are working on the case so to avoid any appearance of impropreity, he says basically hi and bye to my investigator.

  54. Well g8, we have one official agent that Kirk trusts. That is a good thing to hear. Especially that he goes to church too. That is the first I heard about anyone other than the Sheriff’s office.. officially speaking that is involved.

I knew there was a task force, but there’s rare mention of other agencies on the case. Surely, victim famiies will be glad to hear that too.

    Thanks for the info.

I am not from the area, so I was also curious where the other agencies are located: like Lake Charles, Lafayette? Are State Police and FBI from other cities being Jennings is small?

  55. were all of these women found w/o there shoes on?

  56. Actually observer, the FBI agent Don Bosco is not our contact on the task force. I know him and spoke to him in the past on other unrelated cases but we have another contact that is a cold case investigator from Lake Charles that we deal with that we trust. We turn over all of our information to him and he follows up on the information. The FBI agent does go to church with one of my other investigator that is not involved in the unsolved homicide case but the agent knows that we are working on the case so he doesn’t speak too much to my investigator only because he does not want to seem like he’s giving us inside information.

  57. Someone asked about shoes, I started looking for something written about that. the news tabs on top of page has a link to The Advocate. Glad g8 put those there!

    Authorities search for answers in slayings – 12 June 08 – http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/19813599.html?showAll=y&c=y
“The first three bodies were discovered in rural canals. The last two were found on rural roadways. Three were nude. Two were partially clothed. All five were found without shoes.”

“Loretta Lynn Chaisson, 28, found May 20, 2005, in a canal. She was clothed but had no shoes on.
Ernestine Daniels, 29, found 17 days later in a canal just 6 miles away. She was partially nude and was not wearing shoes.
Kristen Gary Lopez, 21, found March 18, 2007, in a rural canal south of Welsh. She was completely nude.
Whitnei Dubois, 26, found May 12, 2007, on a rural roadside. She was found nude.
Brown was clothed but was not wearing any shoes, said Cpl. Eric Armfield, a detective with the Jennings City Police Department.”

Found this interesting from 2005 from the same article. Who was involved in the rape case? Were some or all involved or witnesses?

“Lending credence to the notion that the cases are linked is that Brown had been implicated in a 2005 rape case along with one of the original suspects in the Daniels’ homicide. The charges later were dropped.”

  58. Ahlou,

I remember hearing a few years ago that Lawrence Nixon was arrested for something along the lines of a rape or some type of sexual battery. I remember the name because Lawrence was a bit of a high school football star in Jennings about 17ish years ago. I’m not sure if it’s Ernestine’s case or not.

  59. Inmates are not allowed to wear shoes in jail

  60. CW, thanks for that info didn’t know the names involved. Maybe that’s why Lawrence Nixon was the suspect for her murder.

Observer, wow that could be the reason they all had no shoes. Makes sense they would willingly go with LE. No shoes in jail sure would be a good reason they didn’t have shoes on.

I had been thinking of police stations and the morgue. Police picking them up then morgue for storage….that would be a place they could stay for awhile without stinking up the place. Just don’t know about the decomposition and I’m sure that would be a place where the special bleach may be bought for and used.

I’m also wondering what kind of and how many had drugs in the system?

  61. What about walkin freezers that people use to hold crawfish sacks. HMMMM….Wonder if that freezer is still there at that vacant resturant north of Jennings.

  62. I doubt the remains were held anywhere after death. Not easy to move a corpse hours after death, whether it is because of rigor mortis or decomposition.

Where exactly is this vacant restaurant?

  63. Hathaway

  64. If you have more than one person you can

  65. Right before and in the same parking lot as the budget inn

  66. thanks guys for all the hard work! you all have no idea how much I appreciate it!!!!

  67. YVW, we are all searching through meger information hoping something will help.

You and all the families must stay strong for each other now. Those of us who have had murdered family members say ‘it is a club no one wish on another’. Take it from me it gets easier but it will NEVER go away.

BTW when you feel like venting do so.

  68. Most jails strip you and supply uniforms, shoes, shower shoes, right down to the underwear or you can purchase stuff from their store accounts. It would be easy for someone to put together a puzzle if all the girls were wearing jailhouse issued shoes or flipflops.
So they would have to go missing. That would explain naked without sexual abuse also.

  69. Observer, you are making so much sense in a short while. Why wouldn’t Le look at this? Most likely most can supply the answer.

I think they should call in the National Guard as police replacements until this is solved.

  70. Hi y’all…..just noticed (and wish I’d caught it earlier) but two years ago today is when Kristen’s body was found. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

  71. Ya know, I’m only 26 yrs old and I’ve lived in Jennings all of my life and as far back as I can remember there has been corruption, perversion, lawsuits, etc. involving jdp law officials and higher appointed officials. So why is it that after all of these yrs, people in this town don’t see this all happening right before our eyes. It’s ridiculous. I’m not proud to raise my children here. What is there to be proud of? The dignity of jdp was stripped a long time ago…..So I ask you now, a serial killer in jdp?? Does it even surprise you with that record???? (food for thought)

  72. Our prayers will be with Kristen’s family, may God Bless there grieving souls!

  73. Ya, know the guard comes to mind in the setting you mentioned. It was a prison in DeQuincy, La.
The inmates were running the place. They were having some very serious offenses on young first offenders by lifetimers they had mixed amongst them, for it was a first offender prison-supposedly. It was in the early 80’s.

My brother was there witnessing all this for a couple of years it seems. He worked in the store with two of the better officers. He decided to speak out, and they backed him. He filed a grevance. That was it.
Someone from FBI or CIA important came in the next day. Maybe high up prison officials. The Warden, Assistant warden, and 28 officers stepped down before a Senator that also arrived that day.

Only one news station covered the story.

They did bring in the National Guard to takeover until others could be replaced and trained to control the prisoners. I often wonder what became of a lot of the inmates that suffered abuse there.

It is now Paul Phelps Correctional Institute in DeQuincy, LA.

  74. Ahlou, I noticed that you mentioned 5 of the young victims, what about the other two victims that are part of the seven? Is there anything out of the ordinary about their bodies?…(like missing shoes…etc…)

  75. Thanks brownie and Kirk for the answer to my question. I will have someone I know look into this.

  76. Hi Brittany…

I suppose all towns have their fair share of crimes and corruption but, from what we’ve been discovering lately, JDP seems to have MORE than their fair share. It seems as though in the past 15-16 years (since about 1992) the crimes have continued to escalate. There are what looks to be 10 murders (all unsolved) that certainly have the appearance of being related in many ways. I’m amazed at the crimes that have been committed by LE both city and parish and the sexual allegations that have been raised against them….among other things. It truly is disgusting.

As an outsider looking in…..it doesn’t appear to me that local LE has the capability, skill or knowledge to maintain law and order in JDP. What semblances of enforcing laws they do practice seem to be on a selective basis…..not consistent. Of course the performance, capabilities and inadequacies of each LE entity lie squarely on the shoulders of the person heading up each of the operations. It’s the chain of command….the “little dogs” are a clear reflection of the “big dogs”.

You ask why the residents don’t seem to be disturbed about what’s been taking place in your town….I’ve been asking the same question. I know your local journalists there have written a few editorials asking the same question….they seem to be aware there’s a PROBLEM. There seems to be no questioning or public outcry other than a handful of citizens. Is everybody in denial? Do they have suspicions but feel like there’s nothing they can do? Are they afraid of a backlash if they do speak up and voice concerns? Do they just not care?

I’m pretty sure if this situation was taking place in Lafayette Parish, Iberia Parish, St. Martin, etc…..there would be some hell raising going on. I’m certainly not wishing a murder on a family member of ANYONE but we all damn well know if a young lady from the north side or any middle/upper class family goes missing in JDP and is found dead……the chit’s gonna starting hitting the fan then. Hmmm…..wonder if the perp(s) know that? Yep…they do.

You keep your head up kiddo….where there’s a will there’s a way!! The people here are not physically by your side but we are in spirit. I’m just sorry more people in your community haven’t rallied around you and the other families. They should all be ashamed. I hope none of the “head turners” find themselves in your shoes one day.

  77. Brittany, keep the faith. I think JDP has a tiger by the tail. G8 has said it much better than I but we all have resources to call on. The resources are being called.

There is an old Georgia saying…if you are going to run with the big dogs then you bettah learn to piss in the tall grass.

Not a stranger to adversity…piss on some of these dogs.

  78. jfd61, I suggest you read the story that was printed in the advocate. I would have to go back but I think the other two had not been killed.

“The first three bodies were discovered in rural canals. The last two were found on rural roadways. Three were nude. Two were partially clothed. All five were found without shoes.”

  79. Wishing Kristen’s the very best. Wish I knew how to send a rose here, please consider it sent.

  80. Ahlou, I understand that part but is there no new updates that suggest that the two victims were shoeless as well?

  81. g8, we all feel for Brittney as well as all 7 of the families. I want to address a little of what you’ve said and please read it as I hope as a positive.

“As an outsider looking in…..it doesn’t appear to me that local LE has the capability, skill or knowledge to maintain law and order in JDP.

Yep…they do.”

Many people from south of the tracks have been asking for help for years all they got was excuses for many, many years. Giving an example, a few years back there was a fight on South Main, police came the next thing was pelting the police cars and maybe police. What did they do they left, claiming they couldn’t control the crowd. How the hello ever heard of people in control of the police.

Before that who can tell how long it had been since a police even walked down the street on South Main. The people take care of themselves. It’s a little better now since the November City Council Meeting. It was the meeting where the citizens had heard enough about ‘we don’t care’. They showed up in great numbers the mayor and all others were in shock. The Chief of Police was the calming person, the mayor sure did not help.

I don’t care how much that preacher is praying and shown off, we all know it is been Rev. Perkins and Rev. Marsh who have been the leaders and who demanded attention. Praying is just fine but praying without stating a position means nothing. Yet all we hear is the prayer pastor – what was his input, I know – pray. Ok fine, now how do we get police to secure the southern part of town.

People are glad the police sometimes ride around south of Jennings. They should have been doing it all the while after all people on the south side pay taxes and all the rest of being good citizens. If the police are so afraid of the South side citizens then they should call in the Guards.

None of what has gone on would never happen on the North side, at least they would not be dropping bodies there. Someones butt would be in extra hot water if a body showed up on the North side, much less if a child from the North shows up. Nothing happens in Jennings, Louisiana without the powers-that-be giving a yes or no.

  82. Sorry I forgot, I’ve been told by some very reliable people each of the families were offered free help by a highly professional person. Only one family accepted. I think it may have been from the I Love Jennings committee.

ALL families should drop the race lines and pull together. Even during the briefing you could see it and yet each race lost a child by murder. Until we can come together as people this kind of thing will or can continue.

  83. jfd61, I’m aware there are no update but why did you make it seem like I had a reason for not mentioning the other two. I wish there was an update it would be interesting to know.

Don’t want to keep on but the pastor is Rev. Masters from First Baptist, not Marsh.

  84. I see there is another person running for mayor of Jennings – Ray Touchet. It is in JDN today. Nice write up. Good maybe that’s what is needed someone new.

  85. ahlou – Do you know that Rev. Masters from First Baptist Church is also planning a block party next month and do you know where this is suppose to be happening on South Main. So Rev. Masters is also trying to do for this community as well. Praying never hurts, it can help also you don’t have to state a position when you pray you just have to believe and have faith. We as the public of jennings we need to stand together and take back our town if we want it to happen it has to be up to us.
So take a stand don’t let the bad people of this town keep knocking this town down this town was once a great town and it still can be. But for change to happen people have to get up and do something about it.
So if you want to do something get involved with this town everyone from the south side of the tracks to the north side it does not matter what side we all have to work together to make this a better place.

  86. ahlou:
To address what was said about “dropping the race lines” (the families), well you are so incorrect. First, I am Whitnei’s sister, aka the “big mouth” from the briefing. I am married to a black man and my children are bi-racial. I have never been closed minded to any race. I am speaking for all of the families when I say this, Jennings is a small town and all of the families, well, most of us all knew each other before this tragedy and would probably say hello to each other even without this under our belts. We have united with each other and the community whether white or black. You see, in this town, we *the families) have to take all of the help and support we can get, because there’s not much out there as it is. What I am trying to say is, Ive grown up around both Kristen and Loretta’s family, went to school with Muggy’s sister, etc. So u get my point? It is not us that have race divisions, it is the cold-hearted bastards that refuse to help us when we need it the most!!!!!!!!!!

  87. I give one thousand percent to Rev Masters, no if no and he is a JEWEL.
I am involved, so how do you know I know what I have said.

The pastor I’m talking about is the one who has had the headlines for praying. Don’t know what his name is but it is not Rev. Masters.

Rev. Masters is a JEWEL as I have said. Sorry I can’t thing of anything else – he glows and shine.

  88. Yes again, to address your comment again, I dont know who your reliable source is because I was never offered help by any “professional”, but by the time this is all over with I’ll probably need a professional (shrink)!!! LOL! You would be surprised how many things you hear that are supposed to be so reliable are not true!

  89. Brittney, I will not get into a war of anything with you. I am a born, raised person of Jennings. I may know Jenning far more than you would ever know about Jennings since I know I’m older. I’m not dropping the race lines, I’m stating facts. I’m also glad you are her “big mouth” sister, we need more like you. Since many have been quiet far too long. I was trying to give you courage, you see you lost a sister and if you read you will see I lost a child so I know what you must be feeling. There is no need for a fight. We can discuss bi-racial later if you’d like, been there, done that. You may and is speaking for the tragedies but you know what you can use as much help as you can get to get this solved.

Well if you take the help tell me how many took the help from the professonial offered. Not a fly by night but a person who is in current practice. If you tell me you was not offered the help I will pass it down tomorrow and the help will be offered to you.

Brittney, if you was not who you are I’d say more but please understand there are those who really care. Why waste time fighting with them when you could be having a real friend. In any case if you did not see it I understand where you are since I have a murdered child, so I know what you are feeling.

  90. Brittney, I did not see you post but I promise I will let the person know. I’m sorry.
